We're Hiring: Events & Marketing Coordinator
Plant Magic | Denver, CO
Status: Part-time, 15–20 hours/week Compensation: $22–25/hour, depending on experience Location: In-person Plant Magic - 925 E 17th Ave, Denver CO Reports to: VP of Marketing & Programming
About Plant Magic
Plant Magic is a Denver-based plant medicine Church, psychedelic education and community center, operating under RFRA and Colorado's Natural Medicine Health Act protections. We hold ceremonies and facilitator-led events, run a community Cafe on 17th Avenue, and support members through our Plant Medicine Apothecary. Our model is rooted in "You Are Your Own Minister" — self-directed sovereignty over one's own spiritual practice.
Position Summary
We're looking for a part-time Events & Marketing Coordinator to help run the logistics behind our facilitator-led programs, occasional ceremonies, and community gatherings, while also lending a hand with marketing content and volunteer coordination. This role is roughly 70% events, 30% marketing, and reports directly to the VP of Marketing & Programming.
Plant Magic's community is thriving, and we're anticipating exponential growth in our program offerings this fall and beyond. This role is central to that growth — not just running our recurring events, but actively bringing new vetted programs and facilitators into the fold.
This is a great fit for someone already woven into Denver's psychedelic education and creative community — facilitators, artists, and community-builders alike — who wants a genuine foot in the door. That said, event facilitation and community-building experience come first; creative or facilitation backgrounds are a strong plus, not a substitute.
Key Responsibilities
Event & Programming Coordination (~70%)
- Coordinate and keep our recurring, existing events running smoothly week to week. The established rhythm this role owns day one, alongside the new programs and community nights you'll grow
- Plan and execute facilitator-led programs and community gatherings from start to finish, leading volunteer teams to pull off day-of logistics — space setup/breakdown, supply prep, scheduling, and run of show with volunteer support
- Spearhead our community events — book clubs, movie nights, trivia nights, and similar gatherings — from concept through execution, growing this side of general programming as a steady, welcoming on-ramp into the community
- Eventually own filling events with the support of the Marketing dept.: drive registration and attendance for both recurring and new programs so events run at capacity
- Source and vet new facilitators and programs, ensuring alignment with Plant Magic's values, quality standards, and legal/community guidelines
- Manage facilitator relationships end-to-end: agreements, event participation logistics, and payment processing Serve as an on-the-ground point of contact for facilitators during events with volunteer support
- Support media creation at events (photo/video capture), coordinating with a volunteer media contributor where available Recruit, schedule, and manage volunteers for event support, with room to grow this program over time
- Maintain and grow the events calendar and pipeline as new programs come online, communicating logistics across the team
Marketing Support (~30%)
- Partner with the VP of Marketing & Programming to plan and execute how each event and program is marketed
- Bring your own marketing ideas to the table — we want a thought partner, not just a task-executor, though campaigns are planned and approved together with the VP
- Support social media and content creation, including sourcing and organizing photo/video from events
- Must be technically savvy and understand how to utilize AI tools at an intermediate level.
- Assist with general marketing operations as needed (asset organization, content calendar support, light copy assistance)
Growth Opportunity
Plant Magic is growing fast, and this role is a real entry point into leadership as we scale. Colorado's plant medicine landscape is thriving, and we intend to expand this model to other states — someone who grows with us here has a genuine path into a larger leadership role in that expansion.
Bonus: Cafe Barista Shifts (Optional)
We'd love for this person to also pick up barista shifts at the Cafe. It's a great way to get to know the community on an intimate, day-to-day level, and it's an easy way to add extra hours to your week. It's a fun gig, and totally optional — just an added perk if you're interested.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in the psychedelic or plant medicine space strongly preferred
- Experience coordinating events, programs, or community gatherings — this is the core of the role
- Creatives and existing facilitators encouraged to apply; artistic, ceremonial, or performance backgrounds are a welcome bonus on top of strong event and community fundamentals
- Marketing instincts and comfort proposing ideas, paired with a collaborative approach to executing plans alongside leadership
- Comfortable managing volunteers and coordinating multiple moving pieces on event day
- Basic photo/video sensibility; comfort with social platforms a plus
- Aligns with Plant Magic's values: reverence, sovereignty, and non-extractive community care
- Able to work in-person, including some evenings/weekends for programs and events
Schedule
Starting at 15–20 hours/week. Schedule will flex around the events and ceremony calendar; some evening and weekend availability required.
